BOONEVILLE, KY - 25 August 1995 - James Cole, 82, of Shepherd Lane, passed away August 25, 1995 at the Owsley County Health Care Center after a long illness.
He was a member of the Pentecostal Church and a veteran of World War II. A native of Clay County, he was the son of Samuel and Lucy Robinson Cole and a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Hardy Cole of Booneville; three daughters, Mrs. Wilma Sue Allen, Newport, KY; Mrs. Wanda Cole, Verona, KY; Mrs. Edna Campbell, Booneville, KY; and Mrs. Debra Carrier, Merrill, KY; two sons, David Cole and Billy Cole, both of Booneville.
Also surviving are four brothers, Tom Cole, Beattyville, KY; Marion Cole, Booneville, KY; Arthur Cole and John Cole, both of Franklin, TN; a sister, Mrs. Sudie Duff, Ricetown, KY; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, August 28, 10 a.m. at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home with Rev. Jamie Brunk and Rev. Charlie Wilson officiating. Burial was in the Hensley Cemetery with Searcy and Strong Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
