BOONEVILLE, KY – 30 March 1994 – Irvin Cole, Sr., a World War II veteran and retired carpenter and farmer died at the Lee County Constant Care Home of cancer on March 30, 1994 after a long illness.
He was born in Owsley County, the son of Samuel and Lucy Robinson Cole. He was the husband of Arlie Robertson Cole of Beattyville, KY.
He is also survived by two sons, Clay Cole, South Lebanon, OH and Irvin Cole, Jr., Morrow, OH; six daughters, Gloria Sue Dooley and Connie Bowman, Booneville, KY; Carol Ann McDermott, Little Rock, AR; Judy Kay Cole and Marlene Angel, both of Beattyville; and Ella Mae Smith, Inez, KY; five brothers, James Cole and Marion Cole, both of Booneville; Tom Cole, Beattyville; Arthur Cole and John C. Cole, both of Franklin, TN; one sister, Sudie Duff, Mistletoe, KY; five grandsons and three granddaughters.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Marshall officiating. Burial was in the Hensley Cemetery with Searcy and Strong Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
