MABEL CHRISTMAN
SHUSHAN - Mabel S. Christman, 68, died Friday, Nov. 12 at Mary McClellan Hospital, Cambridge.
She was born in Sandgate, Vt., on Jan 25, 1914, daughter of Charles and Lydia Granger Skidmore. Her second husband, John Christman and her first husband, Walter Rowland, both predeceased her.
Mrs. Christman was a member of the Shushan Methodist Church. Before her retirement, she had been employed at the Hale Company of Arlington, Vt.
She is survived by three sons, Lawrence and Clifford Rowland, both of Cambridge, and Raymond Rowland of Hoosick Falls; three daughters, Shirley Woodcock of Cambridge and Anna and Barbara Rowland, both of Shushan; two stepsons, Roy Christman of Arlington and Nedrick Christman of Shushan; four brothers, George and Harry Skidmore, both of Sandgate, Floyd Skidmore of Arlington and Kenneth Skidmore of Shaftsbury, Vt.; a sister, Daisy Woodward of Bennington, Vt.; 23 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Charles A. Ackley Funeral Home, Cambridge by the Rev. Fergus Cochrane, pastor of the Shushan United Presbyterian Church. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery in Salem.
