Wilma "Billie" Elizabeth (Reed) Lindemyer was born April 10, 1917, the daughter of Walter S. and Ella (Silverthorne) Reed in Cayuga, ND.
Wilma married Wendell Melby in 1936. Of this union, three children were born, Darlene, Bonnie and Reed.
Following wendell's death, Wilma married Grant Lindemyer on August 20, 1947 at Grand Marais, Minnesota. Of this union, M'Lee, LuAnn, Donella, Gary and Randy were born. The family resided in Evansville and Alexandria.
Wilma loved to play cards, bingo, Yahtzee and cribbage.
Wilma died August 19, 2005 at Crestview Manor in Evansville at the age of 88. She is survived by her children, Donella Hiler of The Dalles, OR; Reed and wife, Leslie Melby of Hood River, OR; Gary and wife, Susan Lindemyer of Hood River, OR; M'Lee and husband Dennis Zeller of Hood River, OR; Bonnie and husband, Dick Lucas of Garfield, MN; Randy Lindemyer of Evansville, MN; Darlene and husband, Bruce Olson of Evansville, MN; and LuAnn and husband, Larry Thomas of The Dalles, OR; and numerous grandchildren, biological and adoptive, whom she enjoyed when they visited her.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Wendell Melby in 1947 and Grant Lindemyer in 1996, three brothers and one sister.
A memorial service was held at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria on August 22, 2005 with Rev. Dennis Preston officiating. Inurnment was in Mound Grove Cemetery. Arrangements with Anderson Funeral Home.
