Mr. Campbell was born Feb. 19, 1914, near Loraine, a son of Thomas and Sarah Petticord Campbell. He married Clara Sowers, June 29, 1942. She survives.
Mr. Campbell served as road commissioner in Hancock County for 29 years. He was a member of the Bethany Church of Christ in Tioga. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors also include two sons, Carl M. of Murphysboro and Daniel L. of the Air Force in the Philippines; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Carolyn) Thomas of Kirkwood; four sisters, Mrs. Victorine Sherman of Quincy, Mrs. Cleo Norvell of Paducah, Ky., Mrs. Katherine Adair of Mendon and Mrs. Marjorie Brandenburg of Jeffersonville, Ind.; two brothers, Thomas of Quincy and J. D. "Jake" of Warsaw; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Neiser Funeral Home in Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Moss Ridge Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by several veterans organizations of Hancock County.
Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Post in Carthage.
