LAS VEGAS - Garth Howes, 72, a former resident of Idaho Falls and Dubois, died October 31, 1994, in a Las Vegas hospital after a lingering illness.
He was born April 28, 1922, at Newdale, near St. Anthony, to Culburt and Leah Howes. While living in Idaho Falls, he was employed by Rio Sign Co. He was later employed by Young Electric in Las Vegas, where he was the chief engineer until his retirement in 1994.
He was an avid fisherman and loved to fish in the Dubois area.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, of Las Vegas; a son, Myron, of California; a sister, Jewel "Judy" Isley of Hailey; and a brother, Boyd Howes of Pocatello. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.
