Sarah Ellen Long Clark, 82, a former Idaho Falls resident now living in Tyhee, died April 9, 1985 in Murray, Utah following a long illness.
She was born December 2, 1902 in Bloomington, to John and Mary Christensen Long. The family moved to Rexburg when she was 14. She attended Rexburg schools and graduated from Ricks College.
She taught school in Canyon Creek, Idaho and January 2, 1922, she married William Keith Clark in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Inkom and Idaho Falls prior to moving to Tyhee four years ago.
Mrs. Clark worked at Newberry's store in Idaho Falls and Pocatello. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served as captain of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
She and he husband served an LDS stake mission and a mission to Canada and were in the 70s when they completed a Texas mission.
Survivors include her husband of Tyhee, three sons, Donald Keith Clark of Linden, Utah, Glen Clark of Grace, and John Clark of Inkom; seven daughters, Mrs. Sam (Marcell) Wanner of Inkom, Mrs. Delos (Betty) Hale who is serving an LDS mission to Singapore, Mrs. Mark (Louise) Schwendiman, serving an LDS mission at Nauvoo, Illinois, Mrs. Claude (Elaine) Cobia of McCammon, Mrs. Bill (Myrna) Price of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Clint (Bonnie) Groll of Salmon, Mrs. Winston (Dorothy) Clayton of Idaho Falls; two half-brothers, Evan and Clifford Long, both of Idaho Falls. She has 65 grandchildren and 90 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the Tyhee LDS Stake Center with Bishop Glenn McMinn of the Pocatello LDS Seventh Ward officiating. Burial will be in the Teton Cemetery with graveside rites at 2 p.m. Friday.
