Chalmers, died Sat., April 3, 1982,
at 9 p.m. in Community Hospital,
Indianapolis, after being in failing
health since November.
She was born Dec. 12, 1906, in
Kentucky, the daughter of Thomas
and Markie Anderson Cain. She
was married to Herman Spear on
March 7, 1924, in Tennessee. They
moved to White County in 1945 and
lived in Chalmers since 1952.
Surviving with the husband are
six daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Esell)
Shaw, Delphi, Bonnie Cain, Remington,
Mrs. Jerry Wendy Murphy,
Palm Desert, Calif.; Mrs. Ivan
Doyle Logan, Montgomery, Ill;
Nina Putt, Brookston, and Shirley
Weaver, Santa Anna, Calif.; four
sons, Rester Spear, Charlestown,
West Va., Wayford Spear, Indianapolis,
Floyd Spear, Upper
Mariboro, Md.; five brothers,
Clyde Cain, Lafayette, Clennon
Cain, Rt. 1, Wolcott, Creed Cain,
Nashville, Tenn.; Cecil Cain, Tompkinsville,
Ky., and Ray Cain,
Jamaliel, Ky.; one sister, Myrtie
Scott Johns, Tompkinsville, Ky.; 22
grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Three brothers
preceded her in death.
Services were Tuesday at Hartzler
Funeral Home in Brookston with
Ermil Norman officiating. Interment
was in Tippecanoe Memory
Gardens, West Lafayette.
