GIBSONVILLE ETHEL CHEEK REESE, 95, PASSED AWAY Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.A 2 p.m. funeral service will be held Friday, January 9, 2015 at Bethel Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.Ethel was born in Warren County, NC on June 28, 1919, to the late William and Mattie Cheek. She worked as a clerk with A & P Grocery Store for over thirty years while making sure that her family was always cared for. She was a faithful member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and lived her faith out daily as a praying woman and one who showed the love of Jesus to those in need. She regularly reached out to help others and often mentored and gave advice to her family members. Ethel also enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arley Glenn Reese, Sr. Additionally, she was preceded in death by brothers William, Macon and Herbert Cheek, and one sister, Helen Fuller. Survivors include her daughters, Ann Reese and Kay Baker of Gibsonville, son, Arley Reese, Jr. and wife, Fonda, of McLeansville, and son, Wayne Reese and wife, Jean, of Gibsonville. Also surviving is a brother, Holt Cheek of Elon.
