Maidie Virginia "Norton" Bauer - was born on January 9, 1909 to Benjamin Franklin Norton and Lilly Belle "Clarno" Norton - at Paradise, Oregon. She moved with her parents to Asotin, Washington and then near Chapman Lake Washington. She met John William Bauer and married October 27, 1927. She worked with her husband John Bauer on the Family Homesteads owned by Robert Early Mill. Every morning she had to hitch up the team of horses to a wagon and go fetch water at the well. The well was up a draw close to the house - John Mill's House, built in 1903. Also, she did all the cooking for the harvest crew and farm workers hired by Robert Early Mill. A well was eventually drilled in the back yard of their home - the Mill House - in 1932. The house was wired for electricity and an electric pump put in the new well. Running Water. Between 1952 - 1954 she divorced John William Bauer. She started working as a LPN at the Fairchild Air Force Base and worked there until the late 1980's. She remarried James Wilson in 1955. He was in the air force. She divorced James Wilson in 1962 or 1963. From 1963 to her death on February 11, 1995 she took care of her daughter Valdean Florence Nusser - Bauer and her six children. She was a strong Pioneer Woman dedicated to her family. She has been missed by all.
