Dorothy Jean Carmer was the daughter of Samuel and Ada McKay Carmer. She attended school in Gibson, Iowa.
She was married to Lawrence Robert Bos on February 3, 1949 at the Methodist Church in What Cheer. They began farming in What Cheer area where they raised their five children, four sons, Lawrence Robert, William Eugene, Edward Lee and Peter John and a daughter LuAnne.
Dorothy was a member of the Slimmets and she enjoyed volunteering anywhere she could. She even received an Award of Recognition from Governor Terry Branstad.
Dorothy enjoyed dancing and playing all types of games with her family. She will be remembered as a fun, outgoing mother who loved to socialize.
