Sigourney--Lawrence R. Bos, Jr. 37, of Sigourney died Sunday, May 31, 1987 from drowning in an accident south of What Cheer. He was born Oct. 1, 1949 in Oskaloosa, the son of Lawrence R. and Dorothy Jean Bos.

He married Nancy A. Neff Aug. 19, 1978 in Keswick. He was employed as a carpenter and served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. He had lived in Sigourney since 1984. Prior to that, he lived in Delta. He was a member of the Thornburg Methodist Church.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy; his wife; two sons: Dennis M. and Nathan R., both at home in Sigourney; three brothers: William E. of What Cheer, Edward L. of Ottumwa and Peter J. of Drakesville; and one sister, Luann Little, Thornburg.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Arentson and Rev. Gary Dobbins officiating. Burial will be in the McFarlan Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends this evening from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Harden Funeral Chapel in What Cheer.
