He came to Fresno in 1882 and opened a blacksmith shop on Fresno St. about where the County Jail now stands, eventually moving down the street to the Fresno Street location.
When autos doomed the horseshoeing trade, he went to work for the San Joaquin Light and Power Company where he was in charge of their blacksmith shop for 25 years. He passed away in 1936.
