Hazel Leatta Abbott Brant 1921-2014
Hazel Leatta Abbott Brant, 93 of Danville, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014. She was born December 4, 1921, in Boyle County to the late Lewis Calvin and Nancy Emiline Chambers Abbott. Hazel was a graduate of Parksville High School and worked at Walter Frankel Co. for many years. Hazel was a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church for more than 60 years, secretary of the Joy Sunday School Class and faithfully walked at the church. Hazel was predeceased by her Brant; a son, Dennis Brant; and brothers and sisters Evelyn Reed, Edith Kidd, Hubert Abbott, Manuel Abbott and Grace Burnside. Hazel is survived by her daughter, Deborah Kay Brant (Wallace) Williams of Winchester; a sister, Dorothy Record of Danville, grandchildren Joseph Brant (Meg) Williams, Hugh (Beth) Williams and Dana (Nathan) Stocke; and great-grandchildren Davis Brant Williams, Millie Margaret Williams, Aaron Williams, Andrew Williams and Elisabeth husband, Lee Joseph Harrington. The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Stith Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Stillwell officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
