John Alma Coates, 55, farmer and stockraiser of Mountainville and Mt. Pleasant, died at his home Sunday following a lengthy illness from a heart ailments.
Mr. Coates was born in Mt. Pleasant, October 1, 1894, a son of Joseph A. and Elizabeth Zabriskie Coates. He had always made his home in Mt. Pleasant and Mountainville. He was married to Jane Elizabeth Shelly of Mt. Pleasant, August 24, 1904.
Hs is survived b y his widow and three sons, Marvin I., Alvin and Verle Ray Coates, all of Mountainville; three brothers, George W. Coates, Richfield, Idaho; ? A., and Hyrum Coates, Nampa, Idaho; two sisters, Mrs. Grace C. Blackwell, Carey, Idaho; Mrs. Ethel Kolstrom, Mt. Pleasant and three grandsons.
