MOUNTAINVILLE - Marvin LeRoy Coates, 81, died March 29, 1990.

He was born Oct. 19, 1908, to John Alma and Jane Elizabeth Shelley Coates.

He married Verla Mae Rigby Oct. 23, 1935, in Manti.

The marriage was solemnized Dec. 18, 1941, in the Manti Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was a farmer and active member of the LDS Church.

He served as ward clerk, Sunday School counselor in the Mountainville Ward and financial clerk in the Mt. Pleasant First Ward.

Survivors include his wife; one son and one daughter, Gary L. Coates, Tuolumne, Calif.; and Mrs. Larry (Joyce) Rigby, Tooele; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Vearl Coates, Fairview.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, one son, Donald Glen, and a granddaughter.

Funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the Mt. Pleasant 1st Ward Chapel.

Friends may call at Ursenbach Funeral Home Sunday from 6-7 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
