Zelma C. Lewis. 86, of Lodi died Aug. 2 at a local convalescent hospital after an extended illmess. She was born on Jan. 13, 1906, in Pope, Ark. Mrs. Lewis came to California in 1940 and settled n Salinas before moving to Lodi. She was a nurses aide for most of her life and worked 12 years at Lodi Memorial Hospital Hospital before retiring in 1968. She was a former resident of Lodi Lake Mobile Home Park. Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by a son; J.J. Freeman of Lodi; a daughter, Vida Harrelson of Florida; a sister, Oma Whorton of Missouri; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. The graveside service is 10 a.m. Thursday at Cherokee Memorial Park, with Pastor Lee Hamby of Temple Baptist Church presiding. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m.
