Mr. Henry Lee Baygents, 96, a native and resident of Waynesboro, MS passed away Friday, December 5, 2014 at his residence. He served his country during WWII as part of the U. S. Army 27th Division, 6th Infantry Division Okinawa and Japan. He was retired as Owner/Operator of Baygents Jiffy Curb Store. Mr. Baygents is preceded in death by his father, Walter Wallace Baygents; mother, Phoebe McMichael Baygents; 2 sons, Henry Alton Baygents and Wallace Douglas Baygents; daughter, Margaret Louise Scoggins; 3 brothers, James Thomas Baygents, John Erastus Baygents, Walter Leonard Baygents; 2 sisters, Clara Francis Busby and Ruby Elizabeth Sumlin; 3 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rachel Pauline McGinnis Baygents; son, Jesse M. Baygents (Mary Ann); 3 daughters, Hilda L. Cochran, Dola Ard (Charlie), Deborah E. Roberts (Jimmy); brother, Bodie J. Baygents; beloved step-son, Tommy Pryor (Donna) and step-daughter, Janice Craddock (Lawrence); 24 Grandchildren, 42 Great Grandchildren; 14 Great Great Grandchildren; and 2 very special daughters-in-law, Judy Baygents and Mary Baygents. Visitation for Mr. Baygents will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 8, 2014 at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro with Rev. Jesse Long, III and Rev. William R. Mills officiating. Interment will be in Serenity Gardens Cemetery, Waynesboro, MS.
