Mrs. Alma W. Thornburg, 92, R.R.5, who had been residing with her daughter in Cincinnati recently because of ill health, died Thursday in Cincinnati.
Mrs. Thornburg was born November 9, 1883, in Decatur County and her parents were Caleb Stark and Alpha B. Robbins Wright. She was an active worker in the Liberty Extension Homemakers Club and the Women's Missionary Society of the Liberty Baptist Church. She was married to J. Calvin Thornburg December 15, 1904 in Decatur County and he preceded her in death April 5, 1976.
Mrs. Thornburg is survived by the daughter in Cincinnati, Mrs. Richard (Mary Ruth) Bevington; one son, Merrit C. Thornburg, Greensburg; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home with the Rev. Stewart Northrup and the Rev. Harry Cooke officiating. Burial will be in the South Park Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Friday and the family requests that memorials be in the form of contributions to the Liberty Baptist Church.
