Theodore McKay, 82, Succumbs In Home of Son-in-law and Daughter
Becoming seriously ill a week ago at the summer home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. And Mrs. Bert Griffey, Theodore B. McKay, 82, died at 3:30 a.m. today at the home of another son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Howard, of three miles east of Norristown. Mr. McKay resided with Mr. and Mrs. Howard and was taken there Sunday afternoon.
Born in Union township August 14, 1858, he taught in the county schools for many years and also was a groceryman in various communities.
Mr. McKay was married twice. His first wife was Miss Jennie Ensminger, who died in 1891. Two children were born to this union. They are Mrs. Bert Griffey and Ira McKay, both of this city. On May 11, 1892, he was married to Miss Mamie Gauntt. Mrs. Howard was a child of this marriage. Mrs. McKay died April 1, 1938. Also surviving are two grandchildren.
Mr. McKay was a member of the Geneva Methodist church and a life member of the local Knights of Pythias lodge.
Funeral services will be held at the Geneva church Wednesday at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. Gladys Marsh, former pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be made in Forest Hill cemetery in charge of Morris H. Sleeth. Friends may call at any time.
