Patrick was born 30th April 1901, Springvale, Moneyneena, County Derry, Ireland, the fourth of eleven children born to David O'Kane and Mary Ann Hegarty. He married Margaret Mary (Peg) McGrath 07th August 1951, Our Lady of Grace and Saint Teresa of Avila, Chingford, London.
