Stephan William Sumego, 88 of Leitchfield died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.

He was born May 14, 1924, in Pennsylvania, the son of the late Steve and Anna Wasko Sumego. He retired from The Marley Company and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He was a World War II Army veteran, a member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He and his wife spent much time doing charity work and assisting with activities at their church. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing and was always eager to help those in need.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Mary Turchin Sumego of Leitchfield; two daughters, Pauline Baker of Leitchfield and Susan Sumego of Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Lynn Polston, Stephen Parm and Eileen Bryner; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial mass will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, April 19 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Stevenson officiating.

There will be no visitation.
