She grew up in the small town of Granite Falls, NC, the eldest of 8 brothers and sisters born to Henry and Ruth (Carter) Coffey. In 1950, newly married Mae and husband Ken settled in Seattle and raised their 3 children. She is survived by a son, two daughters, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, three sisters, nieces and nephews [survivors names omitted]. Preceded in death by her husband Ken in 1982.
