Suggested edit: You have the wrong Joshua. This Joshua was b.1807 Dickson Co., TN. He was s/o William Abney & Amelia Bates.

William Abney (s/o Pvt. Paul Abney/Abner and Rhoda Norman) m. Amelia Bates and had issue: Joshua (1807), Rhoda E. (1814), Mourinia (c.1818), Abner (1820), Hall C. (1823) and Elizabeth (c.1826). There was no "Paul" in William's family. I suspect they misread "Hall" for "Paul."

The older Joshua was b.1799 Greenville Co., SC and was this Joshua's uncle.
