Born and reared in the Williamsport district, she was the daughter of James and Anna (Halback) Barnes, and a member of the Lutheran Church of St. Thomas, Pa.

Besides her husband, she is survived by son, Elvin; daughters, Frances, at home; and Mrs. Charlotte Brindle, Scotland, Pa.; sister, Mrs. Mary Needy, Huyetts; and brother, Edward L. Barnes, York, Pa.

Services and interment were made in Chambersburg.
