Mrs. Dorothy June Burress, age 94 of Oneida, TN passed away on Saturday, November 08, 2014 at the Pioneer Community Hospital of Scott.
Born in Oneida, Tennessee on June 28, 1920 she was the daughter of the late James and Millie Simpson Watters.
Dorothy June was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oneida.
In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Hestle Burress; two sons, Mickey and James Edward Burress; four sisters, Corda Smith, Alta Lambert, Bess Strunk and Lottie Caylor; four brothers, Bill “Clay”, Bob, Simpson and Delynn Watters; great-great-grandson, Trey Vanover.
Dorothy June is survived by one daughter, Peggy Burress Jeffers and husband Jan; two granddaughters, Tamra Jeffers Pryor and Angie Jeffers Cross; great-grand children, Natalie Cross, Landon Daugherty, Samuel and Janson Cross and Rebecca Blue Pryor; Great-Great-Grandchildren, Jaxson Vanover, Remy Cross and Harley Quinn Cross; one sister, Mary Jo Mulloy of Butler, Kentucky; special niece, Barbara Caylor King. She also leaves other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Burress family on Monday, November 10, 2014 from 6 until time of funeral service at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home with Dr. Doug White officiating.
Graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Litton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donation be made to: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 5401 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919 Jones & Son Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Dorothy June Burress.
