LUDVIG and JULIA (LARSON) PERSON
Ludvig's parents, Per and Katrina Olson, came to America from Sweden in 1873 when he was 11 years old. They lived on a farm south of the Levis store and later lived west of the store. The store was purchased in 1890, and in the same year he was made postmaster of the Levis Post Office. Many additions were made to the store until it was one of the finest in the area.
Ludvig attended rural school six months a year and spent a lot of time educating himself. This schooling enabled him to hold many town offices with a total length of time of 57 years.
As Ludvig grew older, his son, Leonard, operated the store. Ludvig kept busy tending his garden.
The picture was taken on the east yard of the home on the west side of the store.
(Hannah) Julia Larson was born on July 23, 1872. She was the youngest daughter of Hans F. Larson. She received her education in the rural Osseo schools. She earned her teacher's certificate and taught for more than 10 years in the rural Osseo schools, and western Minnesota schools.
She married (Carl) Ludvig Person on October 21, 1900, and resided in the home built by Ludvig west of the Levis Store. They had four children: Albin, Gladys, Leonard, and Marie.
She was a very devout Christian woman who was extremely active in the Lebanon Lutheran Church. She was a charter member of the Ladies Aid and Missionary Society.
Julia was a skilled seamstress and homemaker, and well loved in the community.
She died on July 21, 1942 at her home.
