Harry Vernon Sprowls, World War veteran & for the past eight years a Wylandville merchant, died Monday night,January 4,1943 at 11:15 o'clock at his home at Wylandville following an illness of the past two years.
Mr.Sprowls was born in West Finley, Decemeber 27, 1897, a son of the late Morgan E. & Mary H.Stollar Sprowls. His early life was spent in the West Finley community.
He enlisted in the United States Army at the outbreak of World War I & saw active service in France & Germany. He was a member of the Claysville American Legion Post 639 & of the Disabled Veterans of Pittsburgh.
On March 14,1933, he was united in marriage with Lyddia Ealy Clutter.
He leaves his wife, his mother, Mrs.Morgan E.Sprowls of West Finley; three brothers, J.Spencer Sprowls, of Roulette,PA & Herman A.Sprowls & Ross Sprowls, of West Finley; one sister, Mrs.Gail Clutter of West Finley & the following step-children: Mrs.Virginia Montgomery of Claysville, John Matteson Clutter of West Finley; Vance C. Clutter of Niagra Falls,NY, Mrs. Theda Grace Seibert of West Finley & Barbara Clutter at home.
