N. Ross Sprowls, 77, of Burnsville, died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack at 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 1, 1973.

He was born September 17, 1895 in West Finley Township to Morgan E. and Mary Stoller (sic) Sprowls. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a member and elder of the Windy Gap United Presbyterian Church.

His first wife, Orpha Wood Sprowls, died March 26, 1959. He was remarried to Alma Raymer, who survives.

Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Gail Clutter, of West Finley R. D. 1; a brother, Herman Sprowls, of West Finley D. D. 1; three stepdaughters: Mrs. Glenn (June) Amos, of West Finley, Mrs. John (Jane) Salsberry, of Linesville, and Mrs. George (Betty) Porter, of Elm Grove, W. Va.; a stepson, Ray Sprowls, of West Finley R. D. 2; 20 step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

Two infant daughters and two brothers are deceased.

SPROWLS - Friends of N. Ross Sprowls, of Burnsville, who died Monday, January 1, 1973, are being received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and also from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Ferrell Funeral Home, Claysville, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Donald Porter officiating. Burial in West Finley Cemetery.
