Mrs. Bell was born Mary A. Brungardt on Feb. 8, 1899 at Victoria and was a lifelong resident of the area.
She had been a cook at Fort Hays State University. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and Hays Medical Center Auxiliary, all of Hays.
Her husband, Jake, died in 1958.
Survivors include a sister, Sister Leoba Marie Brungardt of Concordia.
Her funeral was held at 10 a.m. today at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays, the Rev. Gregory Beyer, officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery. Cline’s Mortuary of Hays, was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to St. John’s of Hays Nursing Home.
