Mr. Beckum was a native of Hancock County but had made his
home here for the past 50 years. He was retired employee of
Central State Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Evie Durden Beckum; two sons, Clifford Walker Beckum and Mr. John Robert Beckum, both of Milledgeville; two brothers, Mr. Carlos T. Beckum of Brunswick, Ga. and Mr. John T. Beckum of North Charleston, S.C.; five sisters, Mrs. Maude Kemp of Macon, Mrs. Ethel B. Hall and Mrs. Bessie Corley of Savannah, Mrs.
Lillian McKinley of Marietta, Ga., and Mrs. Cleo Holsenberg
of San Diego, California, 16 grandchildren and a large number of great grandchildren,nieces and nephews, also survive.
Moore's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
