Katherine Evelyn Gilliam Shipley, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Katherine was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and of the Baptist faith. She was a loving mother and will be missed by her children greatly. Mrs. Shipley retired from Buster Brown after 20 years. She was the daughter of the late Mike and Effie Worley and is preceded in death by her husband Joe Gilliam.
She leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Sandra (Bobby) Terrell, Chickamauga, sons, Joe (Charlotte), Gilliam Jr. Ooltewah, Jerry (Carolyn) Gilliam, Ooltewah, brother, John Worley, Chattanooga, grandchildren, Keith Terrell, Lisa Dickinson, Teresa Collake, Jeff Gilliam, Sonya Gilliam, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held 4 PM, Saturday, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Keith McLeod officiating.
