He was the son of the late Conard and Ollie Stansbury Cook.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings: Dennis Cook, Banner Elk, NC, Lucy Cook Jones, Elizabethton, Betty Cook Estep, Elizabethton, Mildred Cook Crawford, Valdese, NC, and Clearance Cook, Walkertown, NC.
Doyle was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Jonesborough, faithfully serving his Lord in many capacities for over 60 years, including trustee and sound system operator. He was also a member of the Rhea Masonic Lodge #47 in Jonesborough.
He retired from North American Polyester Textiles in Elizabethton. He spent his retirement enjoying Johnson City Cardinals baseball games, tending his garden, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Jonesborough, TN
at 7:00 pm.
Graveside services were held on 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery.
