Virginia Busick Smithey, 86, passed from this earthly life to Life Everlasting on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born in Guilford County to the late Thomas Jefferson and Lillie Belle Chrismon Busick and was married to the late Loften Lambert Smithey.
She was preceded in death by her son, Rodney Lambert Smithey. She was a lifetime resident of Browns Summit and a lifetime member of Apple's Chapel Christian Church.
She is survived by daughter, Angela Lewis (Dace); daughter-in-law, Cynthia Smithey; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Ann Oliver; and brother, Leo Busick.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Ourelia Hogan, Nellie Andrews, Joyce Busick, Deuel Busick, Alvin "Tar" Busick and Ruby Brown.
Funeral services were Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Apple's Chapel Christian Church by Rev. Dave Johnson, Rev. C. Allen Myers III and Dr. Dace A. Lewis, Jr. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
