Elmer O. Crane, 84, Meta, died Saturday at Still Regional Medical Center(Jefferson City). He was born Sept 21, 1908, at St. Anthony, a son of David and Ollie Pendleton Crane. He was married June 5, 1923, to Effie Mae Stokes, who died Nov. 15, 1982. He was married Jan 20, 1986, in Waynesville to Clarice Lorene Schriefer, who survives at the home.
He lived for 30 years in Granite City, Ill., where he was a Superintendent for General Steel Co. Following retirement in 1971, he moved to a farm at Jerome, where he lived until moving to Meta in 1984. He was a member of Campground Christian Church near Meta.
Other survivors include: five sons, Donald Crane, Quincy, Ill., Robert Crane, New Orleans, La., Harley Crane, Gale Crane and Gary Crane, all of Granite City, Ill.; one daughter, Shirley Boneau, Granite City, Ill.; two brothers, Perry Crane, Washington, D.C., David Crane, Union; five sisters, Mildred Howard, St. Elizabeth, Ann Carroll, Bakersfield, Calif., Loraine Carroll, Marshfield, Ina Crane, Florissant, Cleo Kerns, St. Louis; 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 am. Monday at Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home, Meta. The Rev. Earl Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Pendleton Cemetery near Meta. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today.
