Eunice is the daughter of Henry Sylvester Conklin & Betsey (Randall) Conklin.

Eunice married Robert Sylvester Magee on February 24, 1868 in Onawa, Iowa.

Eunice and Henry are the parents of twelve children:

Mrs. Eunice Magee
Decatur Herald March 7, 1929 Volume XXVLL, Decatur, Nebraska.

Eunice Jane Conklin was born March 29, 1827, at Fitchville, Ohio. She died in Decatur, Nebraska January 3rd, 1929 at the age of 81 years, 9 months and 6 days. She passed away peacefully after a brief illness.

At Onawa Iowa, on February 24, 1868, she was united in marriage to Robert Magee. To this union 12 children were born, 7 girls and 5 boys. Three of the children died in infancy. One son Robert died at the age of 28 years and one daughter Cora, died on Mother's Day in 1927.

Her husband also preceded her in death but she lived and labored to provide for her family. She proved herself to be a loving and worthy mother.

Those left to mourn her departure are 6 daughters and 1 son, 38 grandchildren, 19 great grand-children, 3 brothers, 1 sister besides a host of friends. The names of the children are: Mrs. Hattie O'Rourke and Mrs. Nellie Little of Decatur; Mrs. Lydia Thurston of Walthill; Mrs. Mattie Faber, Mrs. Dora Nixon, and Mr. Harry Magee of Sioux City and Mrs. Mary Lake of Glenwood Springs, Colo. Two of her brothers live at Macy and one at Rushville, Mo., One sister at Bancroft, Nebraska.

On Saturday January 5, 1929, her funeral took place and prayer was offered at the house. Services were held at the M E Church at 10 o'clock. A quartet sang appropriate hymns under the leadership of Mrs. Sears and Rev. W. O. Jones preached a short sermon and read the obituary. Six of her grandsons acted as pallbearers. Her body was taken to LeMars, Iowa for internment.

Those from a distance who attended the obsequies were: Mr. and Mrs. Sam Nixon and sons Ed and William of Sioux City; Mr. and Mrs. Z. Thurston of Walthill; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Magee and two sons of Sioux City and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Earley of Sioux City.
