1810 Tax List, Franklin County, OH, Census Index, Page 030, lists John Watts of Franklin County, OH. John Watts and Sarah Goetschius emigrated from New York to OH in 1812 and settled in Franklin County on land that is now Columbus, OH. John Watts served in the War of 1812 in Captain Joseph Vances Company (Dragoons) August 24 - October 14, 1812 or from August 1 to September 4, 1813. His cause of death was a kick of a horse in the military during the War of 1812.

WhiteCpl William Hunter Privates Courtney, Richard Goetschius, Nicholas House, Richard Hunter, John Sullivant, Lucas Watts, John White, Alexander ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------John and Sarah (Goetschius) were most likely buried in the Old Union Methodist Cemetery on Franklin Road south of Columbus and practically on his farm OR in the Old Franklinton Cemetery (downtown Columbus) which had most graves washed away by the river floods before all the cemetery records were ever made. It is most likely the Franklin Road site. Their daughter, Sarah (Watts) Hunter's grave is there. Also, some broken stones of the grave of Nicholas Goetschius were also found there.
