Sarah Rose (Ryan) Daly, was born to James and Sarah (Loughry) Ryan in Chicago, Illinois. She had two older siblings, Mary Josephine and Michael Joseph who were born in County Kilkenny, Ireland. Sadie married John Joseph Daly, a Chicago Police Sergeant on June 17, 1908 in Chicago and they had three children, Helen, Patrick, and John. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Sarah in 1887 and father James in 1926, devoted husband John in 1935, beloved siblings Joseph in 1943 and Mollie in 1950.

Mass for Mrs. Sarah Daly, 86, of 2830 W. 87th St., will be said at 10 a.m. tomorrow in St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church, 6243 S. Fairfield Av. Mrs. Daly died yesterday in Christ Community Hospital, Oak Lawn. She was the widow of John, a Chicago Police Sergeant who died in 1935. Surviving are two sons, Patrick, a detective with the Chicago Police Department, and John; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Lunden; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
