Alstine “Sis” Luke Swails, 76, of Enigma died Thursday, September 25, 2014, at her residence. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Robert Beggs officiating. Mrs. Swails will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 28, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Bobby Swails, Benny Goode, Tim Hall, Roy Luke, Wesley Luke and Woody Rose will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Phagan, Wayne Aultman, Richard Gibbs, Gene Barnes and Fred Barnes.

Mrs. Swails was born on November 11, 1937 in Berrien County and was the daughter of Pearlie Luke and Rosalie Jowers Luke, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Lee Swails, who died in 2007. She was a homemaker and a wonderful cook. She was a member of the Hall Community Church in Berrien County.

Mrs. Swails is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Patti Swails of Enigma; one adopted daughter, JoBeth Harper of Nashville; one brother, Glenwood “Buddy” Luke of Nashville; two sisters, Bobbie McGrady of Alapaha and Barbara Rose of Tifton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
