Mrs. Russ departed this life on Saturday, March 11, after a long and happy life.

Letha was born June 14, 1913, in Cora, Okla., to Henry and Mary Steward. The family moved to Vega in the early 1930s. She was the oldest of six children and resided in Vega until her health forced her to leave her home in 2004.

She cooked in several restaurants and owned and operated two of her own. She was a member of First Baptist Church and loved the challenge of pie making. Playing dominos became one of her great hobbies.

Letha married Spencer W. "Shorty" Russ on Feb. 18, 1934. In this union were born six children.

She was a dear mother, grandmother and friend to all.

The family expresses deep thanks to Beth, Rachel, Jim and Nancy Fox and the staff of Vista Care Hospice.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons at birth; a precious daughter, Fran; her parents; three brothers; and a sweet daughter-in-law.
