A. G. Booker Passes Away January 23rd
A. G. Booker, age 80, died at his home in the northern part of this county Tuesday, January 23rd following a brief illness. He had enjoyed good health all of his life until just a few months prior to his death when his health began to fail.

He was born and reared in Monroe county but had lived in the community where he died for many years. He was married to Miss Margaret Salter who survives him.

He is also survived by the following children: Mrs. E. W. Colgin, Peterman, Mrs. Maggie Hancock, Mrs. S. W. Brown, Mae Williamson, D. A. Booker, Wilmer, R. C. Booker, Atmore and Ernest Booker. One son, A. G. Booker, Jr., preceded him in death. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

For many years he had been a devoted member of the Saints' Church. His death was the source of much sadness to his hosts of relatives and friends in this and adjoining counties. Funeral services were held at Lone Star Cemetery with Rev. Lyle D. Flynn of Brewton, officiating. Brown Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
