Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 15, 2014 at Hillside Church in Mankato with Pastor Mark Miltimore officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery in Fairmont, Minnesota. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Opal Dean Quiggle was born February 11, 1917 in Burt, Iowa to Gladys “Gus” and Laura (Mallory) Squire. She was united in marriage to Marvin Quiggle on September 25, 1937 in Granada, Minnesota. During her younger years she was active teaching Sunday School and took great pride in mentoring women and couples. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, reading, and being a homemaker to her family.
She is survived by her five children, Larry (Delores) Quiggle of Coon Rapids, MN; Doyle Quiggle of Tomahawk, WI, Sierra (Dean dec. 2001) Sassen of Mankato; Lynnea (Kenneth) Smith of Rockford, IL; LaFonda (Clinton) Shreve of Brooklyn Park, MN; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents and husband, Marvin in 1998.
