CARBON, Ind. (Special) - J. Arthur Wells, 65, prominent Carbon merchant, died Friday at the Clay County Hospital. He had operated a food market here for nearly 50 years and was a member of the Carbon Methodist Church. Survivors include the wife, Mary; two daughters, Mrs. Lois Kettering, of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Mrs. Delores Mogan, of Carban; the mother, Mrs. Minnie Wells, also Carbon; one brother Charles A Wells, of Brazil; six sisters, Mrs. Grace Morgan, Mrs. Ruth Dellacca, and Mrs. Clara Herbert, all of Carbon; Mrs. Ethel Pell and Mrs. Margaret Turner, of Brazil; Mrs. Florence Craig, of Mesa, Ariz.; six grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lawson Funeral Home at Brazil with Judge Robert B. Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Calcutta Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Saturday."
