WOLCOTT - Services for A. Burdette Colvin, 86, of Wolcott, who died Sunday at Durham County General Hospital, Durham, N.C., after a brief illness, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church. Spring burial will be in Glenside Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Colvin-Robertson Funeral Home.
Durham [sic] and his wife, the former Lucy McCann, spent winters in North Carolina with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Stanton Colvin.
He was born in the town of Rose and lived in Wolcott. He retired from the post office in 1955 after 29 years. Before that, he was engaged in farming.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and its treasurer for many years. He was a 4-H leader for 12 years.
Surviving, besides his wife and his son, Stanton, are two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Loveless of Richardson, Texas, and Mrs. Herbert Miner of Wolcott; four brothers, George, Lawrence and Kenneth, all of Wolcott, and Lynn of Webster, a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
