Rachel (Engelmann) Kircher, 84, of Willmar, died Monday at her home.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar. Burial will be in Cloverleaf Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and one hour prior to the service Saturday.

She was born June 15, 1924, in Rainhill, northern England, to William and Rachel (Worth) Unwin. She grew up in England and, after finishing school, she began her nursing career. She was a nurse during World War II. She traveled to the U.S. in the late 1940s to visit a friend and met her future husband.

On Oct. 15, 1949, she married George Engelmann in Wadena. They lived in Minnesota before moving to North Carolina. They moved to Willmar in the mid 1950s. She had owned and operated Rachel's Uniform Shoppe and was employed at Butter's Ladies Fashions before retiring. George preceded her in death in 1988.

She married Wayne Kircher on Dec. 18, 1989, in Willmar. They lived in Spicer and Willmar and spent winters in Rio Verde and Sun City West, Ariz.

She is survived by her husband; children: Joan (and Nelson) Engelmann, Dennis (and Jayne) Engelmann, Phil (and Dawn) Kircher and James (and Sara) Kircher; six grandchildren; and her brother: John Unwin of England.

She was preceded in death by her first husband; three brothers; and three sisters.
