Mary Louise is the daughter of Lloyd Feather Bliss and his wife Cecile Gay Upham, of Buchanan, Michigan. She was the second of seven children.

She was born on the Bliss family farm on Geyer Road, N.-N.E. of Buchanan, Berrien County Michigan (the same farm that her father Lloyd Bliss was born and raised on).

Mary Louise died (unmarried) from anasarca (the massive swelling of tissues, and kidney degeneration, caused by bad blood cells). She died at the age of 19 years, 11 months and 7 days, in their home at 119 S. Cayuga St. in Buchanan, Berrien Co. MI.

After the death of Mary Louise's father, Lloyd F. Bliss, her mother moved the family from the farm on Geyer Road, N.-N.E. of Buchanan, to the home in town, three years before Mary Louise died [about 1938].

YOUNG BUCHANAN WOMAN IS DEAD.
Buchanan, June 26-- Miss Mary Louise Bliss, 20, died at 3 p.m. yesterday in her home at 110 [119] South Cayuga street after a six weeks' illness. She leaves her mother, Mrs. Cecile Bliss, five sisters, Mrs. Paul [Thelma] Letcher of Bertrand, and Margaret [Marguerite], Barbara, Francis, and Kathryn, all at home, and her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence [and Cleo] Upham of Buchanan.
Miss Bliss was born on July 18, 1921, in Niles township, just east [N. E.] of Buchanan, and had resided in this vicinity all her life. Her father, Lloyd Bliss, died about four years ago and after his death her mother brought the family to Buchanan. The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m.
Friday in the Swem funeral home, with the Rev. James N. Baker of the Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge.

Buchanan, - June 26. Miss Mary Louise Bliss, 20, died Wednesday afternoon at 3 in the home of her mother, Mrs. Lloyd Bliss, 119 South Cayuga street. She had been ill for six weeks.
Miss Bliss was born July 18, 1921, in Niles township, east of Buchanan and came here [to Buchanan] three years ago with her mother and sisters [about 1938].
She is survived by her mother, five sisters, Mrs. Paul [Thelma] Letcher, Bertrand, [MI] and Margaret [Marguerite], Barbara, Frances and Kathryn, at home, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence [and Cleo] Upham, Buchanan, [MI].
Friends may call at the Swem funeral home where services will be conducted
Friday afternoon at 2:30. The Rev. J. [James] N. Baker [of the Church of Christ] will officiate and
burial will be in Oakridge cemetery.
