Richard married Edie (Ida) Anderson who was the daughter of August and Katherine (Larson) Anderson. Richard was the son of Andrew Peter Anderson and Christina Elizabeth (Greenlund).
Richard and Ida had eight children:
1. Oakley-born in 1905, worked for his uncle Gust Anderson in the Chev. Garage and later for his father-was single and died in 1967.
2. Delma-born in 1907 and married Frank Snyder. Their son Jerry is a Veterinarian and works for the Dept. of Agriculture in Wash., D.C. Daughter Lois was a teacher and is married to Tom Rugel and lives in East Lansing.
3. Lenore-born in 1908, was married to Antone Miotti. Their four children: Frank-an electrical engineer for G.E. in Cleveland, Ohio; Phyllis is a teacher in Milwaukee; Clarice is employed in clerical work in California and Jack, an electrical engineer, employed by U.P. Power Co. in Ishpeming, Mich.
4. Wilbert- born in 1909, worked for his father as a carpenter, had one son Robert, works for the Mich. Highway Dept. Wilbert died in 1975.
5. Bernard-born in 1912 and is married to Amy Anderson. They have a daughter Bonnie (Mrs. Dennis Dati) and is a high school teacher. Their son Noel lives in Iron Mountain and is employed for Wis. Electric Co. and is married to the former Karen Lindbeck. Bernard worked for the Wis.-Mich. Power Co. as line foreman until his retirement and enjoys playing the piano in local musical groups. He became involved in the local government and served on the Stambaugh City Commission for several years in addition to being the Mayor in 1967, 1970 and 1972.
6. Eva was born in 1914. She married Leslie Larsen in 1943. Leslie passed away in 1959 and she later married Emil Hill. After his death, she married Ludwig Jeff Broskovitz and lives in Crystal Falls, Mich.
7. Fern-born in 1915 and married Stanley Dahlgren. Their daughter Janice is married to Paul Morin and son Richard is an electrical engineer with M. & J. Electric in Iron Mountain.
8. Clyde was born in 1921, is married to Evelyn Kerm. Clyde graduated from Mich. State and is a chemical engineer in Vero Beach, Fla., designing equipment and buildings for the chemical processes. They have a daughter Nancy and a son Tom.
Richard died in 1945 and Ida in 1956.

Andrew Peter Anderson and Christina Elizabeth Greenlund were married in Gnythyttan, Sweden. They left Sweden in 1883. Andrew and Christina had 10 children.
6. Richard-married Edie (Ida) Anderson. He was a contractor and builder in Stambaugh. He had a lumberyard with his partner Oscar Renberg and built many homes in the area. He was the contractor that erected the Stambaugh City Hall, along with Fineman's Dept. Store, the building that is now occupied by Erickson's Drugs, Dorothy's Market and the post office. Richard and Ida had eight children: Oakley, Delma, Lenore, Wilbert, Bernard, Eva, Fern and Clyde.

The Phoenix Lumber and Supply Company was a pioneer building supply yard, having taken over the Fisher-Morrison Yard, an earlier enterprise owned by F.A. Morrison and N.E. Fisher in 1910. H.J. Fisher was proprietor. The Iron River firm, located on Fourth Avenue at Ross, expanded into a chain of yards located in Stambaugh, Iron Mountain, Escanaba and Gladstone. The Stambaugh yard owned by Richard Anderson was purchased in 1926.

OBITUARY of Bernard Anderson 1994 (buried Resthaven) says he is the son of Richard and Ida Anderson.

INFORMATION FROM WAYNE OHLSSON at www.rootsweb.com says DOB of 1876 is incorrect. Swedish birth record lists DOB as 23 Aug 1875 in Älvstorp Kvarn, Grythyttan, Örebro, Sweden - name was Richard Swan Andersson in Sweden. (He had a brother Axel Engelbrekt b. 7 Nov 1876)
