Bertha Mildred “Mickey” Hancock went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday August 30, 2014. Mickey was born October 14, 1929 in Waitsburg, Washington to Callie and Mae Hicks.

On May 10, 1947 she married the love of her life, Richard T. Hancock and together raised their 7 children. They Spent 52 years of marriage before his passing in 1999. Mickey was a loving, caring woman of great character, with a heart of gold and a strong Christian faith that she lived each and every day and instilled in the lives of many. Family gatherings, Sunday dinners and her Thursday breakfast date were a few of the many things she enjoyed. Time spent with those she loved and watching the grandchildren and great-grandchildren scurry about was her favorite entertainment.
Mickey worked many years in the restaurant industry including Dolly's Diner in Prosser and The Townhouse Cafe in Sunnyside, which was owned by her sister. In the early 70's she and Richard owned and operated the Reach-In Drive-In in Prosser. Later in life she worked and cared for many through the years in Home Health and Convalescent Care until her retirement.

Mickey was preceded in death by her husband Richard T. Hancock Sr. and son Ronnie Joe, 1 Brother, Lawrence Hicks and 3 sisters, Betty Jean Browning, Ellen Withers, and Pearl Farnsworth. She is survived by her son, Richard T. Hancock Jr, (Lorainia) of East Wenatchee, WA, Daughter, Judy Austin of Prosser, son, Frank Hancock (Teresa) of Soldatna, AK, daughter, Patricia Zieske (Buddy) of Prosser and son, John Hancock (Angela) of Prosser. Sisters Nellie Voss & Violet Whitney, both of Warden, WA and Jennie Underwood of Richland, WA, 23 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren. Mickey's extended family was endless.

The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, concern and kindness shown to them during this time of loss. A special thank you to Prestige Health Care in Sunnyside for the excellent care and compassion you provided and showed our family and our mother.
