She was born February 12, 1933 in Arthur, Illinois, the daughter of Henry Porter and Sarah Lela McKinney England. On June 9, 1956, she married William E. Snyder in Easton, IL. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1990.
She was employed by the Sales Tax Department for the State of Illinois in Springfield, State Farm Insurance Office in Bloomington, IL and various positions with Two Rivers Regional Council of Public Officials since 1979.
Frances was a member of Grandview Baptist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #0037, and a charter member of the WW II Memorial, and the Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association. She was Past president of the Women's Aglow, Baptist Women Missionary Society, 8 years as volunteer at Lincoln School, and she assisted with Brownie's, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She held various positions in the church here in Quincy and Hardin, Montana.
Survivors include her son, John Paul "JP" Snyder and "daughter-in-love" Kim, Quincy; her son, Terry Ray Snyder, Mt. Sterling, IL; her daughter, Lynda Marie Dobey and "son-in-love" Butch, Quincy; 4 grandchildren, Michelle Marie Allison and her fiance" Darrell R. Stovall, Quincy, Lauryn Kaley Snyder, Megan Jean Woosley, and Tori Elizabeth Snyder, all of Quincy; 2 great grandchildren, Kirstyn Lynn and Gavin Michael Stovall, both Quincy; one brother, Robert E. England, Shreveport, LA; 2 sisters, Estella L. Pound, Clinton, IL and Shirley J. Thompson, Shelbyville, MO; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers, Charles P. England, Boyce O. England who was killed at the Battle of the Bulge during WWII, December 24, 1944, and Oconnel B. England, 3 nephews and 4 great nephews.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Monday, September 23, 2002 at the Grandview Baptist Church, Rev. Dennis Thomas officiating. Burial in Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois. The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Grandview Baptist Church or The American Cancer Society.
