John Henry was born in 1812 in Scotland. He immigrated to Huntingdon and on Feb 25. 1839 he married Margaret Elder, here in Huntingdon. To this union were born nine children: Jane, Mary, George Elder, Christina Hosie, Margaret, Janet, Christina, Robert and Ann. He died in Elgin at the age of 70.
